Why attacking Trump with Christian morality will never win

I know that it’s en vogue to use Jesus and Christianity as a means of attacking Trump, but I don’t think it will work. As an astrologer, I believe we are quickly moving into a new age, the Age of Aquarius. You probably have heard this before. Aquarius is a forward-looking, scientific, technological sign, and the evidence is all around us. However, there is one quirk of astrological ages, the opposite sign is often highlighted, and Leo is the opposite sign of Aquarius.

I believe that Leo is the foil to Aquarius’s severity and dour outlook. We can see how Rock “stars” were invented in the 20th century. The closest star is the Sun, and the Sun rules Leo. Leo is proud, self-focused, creative, and loud. I believe it unwise to fall into pearl-clutching about Trump’s materialism and disregard for Pisces-era norms. This is just the new normal. People are way over the chains of Christianity and the last millennia. And one of the things that people most like about Trump is his apparent freedom. He is free to do and say as he pleases, and the Aquarian science and modernism can’t trap him, because Leo is the foil to Aquarius. And Trump has Leo rising. He is a walking, talking Leo stereotype.

In the age of Pisces, where compassion was the chief virtue, Virgo was the release valve. When shit got too chill, puritanical Virgos reined in the party. Now, that Pisces/Virgo Spanish Inquisition nonsense is the new devil, the new thing we need to get out of our system.

We can attack Trump with Leonic verve and style. We can use art to attack Trump. We can use logic to attack Trump. But resorting to woeful, dour, and hypercritical holier-than-thouism is a dead end because the people who are criticizing Trump are just as materialistic and hedonistic as him. Nobody cares about Christian virtue anymore. This is part of the cosmic plan.

The future is proud and precise. The future is free and queer. The future is David Bowie, not Mother Theresa. Also, one more thing. Looking at reality and being overwhelmed and filled with despair is a VERY Piscean quality. It’s ok to be full of energy to change shit right now. The kids get that. Don’t tie yourself to the values of the pre-20th century world. Sitting on your pity pot and crying because 2020 is hurting you will only hurt yourself, and we need your help

Love, sex, art, and drugs to you all!

Yes it is the end times, but not like you think. A discussion about how Covid-19 is enabling the Age of Aquarius transition from an esoteric perspective.

(OK, I’m going to talk about Christianity here, but it is an esoteric view of Christianity, not the modern exoteric, evangelical view of Christianity.)

Yes, it is the end times but not like you think. The Age of Pisces, which started 2,000 years ago is coming to a close, and COVID-19/Donald Trump are the great change agents to initiate the second coming of Jesus Christ, but again, not like you think. Basically, the second coming of Christ is when we all have to become Christlike in order for the Age of Aquarius to begin. Through this massive exposure of the destructive nature of inequality, we have to find our inner empathy and love for our fellow beings. And we will because it is all being controlled by the fates at this point.

Yes, this is the Revelation, but the energy of Christ has spread across the globe. In the gnostic Gospel of Thomas, Jesus said “I have cast a fire upon the world, and see, I watch over it until it is ablaze.” It is now ablaze everywhere but in the power structure and much of the Christian church! These are your anti-Christs. The people have become Christlike over the last 2,000 years. And, now, we are compelled to be Christlike because of the technological power we have created. It is no longer tenable for us to not love our neighbors as ourselves. We have to become Christlike, and we are. We have to embrace the higher qualities of the sign of Pisces (love, spirituality, and peace), and get rid of the lower qualities of the sign of Pisces (escapism, self-pity, and ignorance)

At the beginning of the Age of Pisces, 2,000 years ago, we were leaving the Age of Aries (the archetype of war and selfhood), where we learned to have self-identity and to be self-defensive. Christ, Gautama Buddha, and Laozi were agents of the Age of Pisces. They were voices crying out in the wilderness, surrounded by war and strife. Laozi in the east famously started writing in the Chinese “warring states period” that ended around 200 BCE. Small states had learned to defend themselves and their statehood, but this causes massive warfare, so agents like Laozi (who was probably not a more of a movement than an actual person) rose to douse these fires with the water of the Age of Pisces. Pisces is probably the most watery of all water signs, by the way.

So, I know it doesn’t seem like it right now, but people have learned to be much more peaceful in the last 2,000 years. That is why Trump is so abhorrent to so many, because we the people have integrated these lessons and see how destructive Trump is. Trump would have probably been just fine 2,000 years ago, but now, he must go for the new age to begin. Now that we have learned to have compassion and live together without constant warring, it is time for our new lesson: to learn to be accepting of our differences and form a universal world society that protects all life.

Be not afraid. This is all part of the plan. Yes, Trump is the anti-Christ, but we are the true spirit of Christ, and he will go. The evangelical church is the anti-Christ, and they will soon go. A fascinating aspects to the changeover between astrological ages is that the toxic elements of the previous age become the devil of the new age and then becomes irrelevant later on. At the start of the Age of Pisces, 2,000 years ago, the spirit of Aries (represented by a bestial Ram) was often represented in the half-man, half-goat god Pan. Interestingly, there is a myth that around 2,000 years ago, the god Pan died. Around the same time, the early Christian church made Pan their devil, because there was a need to cleanse this element from society to end the warring and internecine strife that was rampant. So now we have this notion of a red-skinned, horned, sex-obsessed devil, which is now becoming quickly irrelevant because most people do not act like this anymore.

So, the new devil of the Age of Aquarius will be a personification of that which is keeping the new age of Aquarius from beginning, namely willful ignorance, narcissism, escapism, and deceit. Likely, the new devil will be something similar to Trump or the average evangelical Christian. The new devil will be the opposite of Aquarius, the sign of science, universal brotherhood, and equality.

Most modern interpretations of the Christian book of Revelation assert that God is going to come down from the sky and send all of the sinners to hell. This is not a very good interpretation. God is within us, not without us. The end-times are happening within us. These energies are being overthrown within us. Figures like Donald Trump are trying to cling to the toxic values of the sign of Pisces, and through science, we now see how dangerous these views are. So we must work to overthrow these elements from society. This leads me to the last component of this essay, selflessness.

Yes, we must learn inner selflessness and elevate the ideals of love, equality, and peace above our desires for escapism, nihilism, and self-destruction. Although the anti-Christ is most represented in figures like Trump and modern evangelical Christians, these toxic elements live in us too, and must be removed within. I can see this beautiful spirit of Christ in the Black Lives Matter protestors putting their safety on the line to end the suffering of our fellow black, Indigenous, and persons of color (BIPOC).

Trump/COVID are the grains of sand in the oyster that will begin the pearl of the new Age of Aquarius. Embrace your inner Christ, the actual Christ, not the bastardized version of the modern interpretation of Christ. This is best represented by the beatitudes of Christ as follows. Blessed are the poor in spirit. Blessed are they who mourn. Blessed are the meek. Blessed are they who thirst for righteousness. Blessed are the merciful. Blessed are the pure of heart. Blessed are the peacemakers. Blessed are they who are persecuted. Be these things, and you have done all that you need to do. Be like Martin Luther King Jr. Be like Malcolm X. Be like Gandhi. Yes, these people were all flawed in some way, but strive like they strove. It is not your job to be perfect. It is your job to become better.

The new age is here! I know these times are scary. They are scary because we see how people like Trump must go. We see how the modern evangelical Christians must go. We see how the narcissistic anti-maskers must go. We see how those who can only think of themselves must go. COVID is here to remake society. The actions of these anti-Christs are glaringly obvious now. Work to remake your inner self and society in the image of what is just and true, and all will be well. I don’t know how it will turn out, and I don’t need to. I can see how the story is progressing, and I have trust that it will work. Trust is the key word here. Blind faith must go. Trust through science must replace it.

With love and brotherhood, peace and science be unto you all.

Fear and Loathing in Outer Space!-An Astrological Essay for our Crazy Times

Hey folks, if you’re feeling a lot of fear and dread right now, at least astrologically, there is an explanation. There is an event that hasn’t happened in the sky for almost 4,000 years. Pluto, Saturn, and Jupiter are all in the same part of the sky, in the sign of Capricorn. Pluto is the planet of death and rebirth. Saturn is the planet of fear and karma. Jupiter is joyous and lucky but it also IS AN AMPLIFIER AND MAKES EVERYTHING BIGGER!

So you have two seriously dour and gloomy planets, Saturn and Pluto, in Capricorn the sign of rules, patriarchy, tradition, and hard work. Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008, right when the financial meltdown happened and it’s been upending traditional power structures ever since. Pluto exposes the dark side of a sign, and anyone with a brain can see the dark side of traditional power structures since 2008. Saturn loves Capricorn, and it’s trying to clean up some of the messes caused by Pluto. They will conjunct only one time, next Saturday the 11th in the US. The last time they touched was in 1982, when there was a serious recession and the religious right was just getting started in the US.

Jupiter just got into Capricorn and won’t join the party with Saturn and Pluto until later this year. But they will all be very close to one another all year. Depending on your own personal chart these planets (yes, I know Pluto is a dwarf planet, but we just use the word planet for every major body in astrology) will affect your life in probably dramatic ways. For me, they are passing through my 3rd house, the house of communication, vehicles, siblings, and roommates. My car broke down and I created a mess with my roommates this last month that I’ve had to repair. Depending on what challenges you are facing right now, do it the right way and accept hard reality and you’ll be ok.

Jupiter will come along and probably soften some of the harshness later in the year, but then Mars comes into the party! This is really just insanity. All of the crazy shit going on in the US and other countries right now is all predicted by the astrology. We’ve been watching this unfold like “yep, there’s all the dudes in power acting shitty. There’s the crazy anxiety and panic.” And I know it’s really heavy right now. Like I said, this hasn’t happened for 4,000 years and when it did last the city of Babylon was founded in modern day Iraq, pretty much starting civilisation as we know it.

Don’t despair! It’s definitely a serious time, and IT WON’T LAST FOREVER! It’s ok. It’s going to pass. And after these planets pass through Capricorn, they move into Aquarius, the sign of egalitarianism, fraternity, technology, and progressive ideas. This is a really good time to build foundations for the future. I know it’s en vogue to say “We’re all gonna die soon; nothing matters!” But life is quite variable and can change very quickly. We’ll make it through together. This year definitely is going to be a shit show, but do you know what is ALWAYS a shit show? Radical change. And it’s coming. The dinosaurs ain’t gonna win. If only under 40 voters voted in the US, Bernie Sanders would already be president. The young people know that what we have is broken. And there’s a weird thing about old people that are resistant to change, they tend to die.

Next Friday is a lunar eclipse on the day before Saturn and Pluto conjunct, and it is exactly opposite Saturn, Pluto, the Sun, and Mercury! It’s insanity. And the moon is in its favorite sign Cancer! The technical way to describe it is: shit is going to be bonkers!

Astrology is definitely not an exact science. It’s more like poetry, but to me it works, and sometimes it REALLY works. Stay strong. Be serious. Work hard. And forgive yourself if you’re struggling. We all are.

As a last point, the United States was founded when Pluto was in pretty much the same spot. It takes almost 250 years to go around the sun! And what did the United States along with the co-occuring French Revolution represent at the time? A radical overthrow of old systems of power, i.e. Monarchy. This is a big time to be alive. It’s gonna be rough, but it can be a great time to grow. Stay grounded my loves. Think like a goat, the animal that represents Capricorn, and just keep climbing that mountain one step at a time.

“You’re all fucking idiots for liking Greta!” the monologue. (satire)

You don’t understand! Greta’s parents are liberals too!! She’s obviously brainwashed by the hidden, Soros funded elites! She even has these people called teachers who help her understand things! How can you idiots be so stupid as to listen to her well-articulated and science backed argument when there’s all these other factors like the fact that she looks like an Aryan Nazi youth because she has braids and she’s white. She has braids and she’s white!!

I bet she doesn’t even have a job like all the other antifa libs draining the resources of “parents.” I know that she’s not thinking for herself because my daughters were not capable of this kind of thing at 16. They were out getting pregnant like God intended! And they’re just rolling her out so that you can’t disagree with her well-reasoned argument because she’s a helpless, retarded child who paradoxically shuts down Republican congressmen when speaking for herself at a hearing. It’s called pedophrasty. That word is not in the dictionary, but I saw it in a meme whose author I already agreed with. I saw. it. in. a. meme. Checkmate.

A broken clock is right three times a day! I mean two. I think. Fucking chemtrails are the reason I made that mistake right now. Someday you’ll wake up to the truth and not the Antifa lies! Btw, did you see the picture where she’s wearing a shirt that says she’s anti-fascist? That just proves she’s a total fascist.

So in conclusion, I’m a scared white male who doesn’t want to lose his tiny scrap of a scrap of self-respect, so I’m attacking a small child who threatens me. Also, I have no self-respect because when Greta was educating herself about how destructive climate change will be to humanity, I was shopping online for stickers of guns to put on my truck and watching the 976th meaningless football game of my life. I have no ability to argue against greenhouse gas theory, so it’s easier if I just send code to other scared and intellectually defenseless dude-bros in meme form. I mean why even learn climate science or science in general? Yeah, I’d rather keep my brain, thank you very much.

A Few Words

God gave you a left hand and a right hand. On one side there are things that happen to you and you’re the victim or receptive or yin. On the other side, you are the actor, the thinker, the yang. You can’t reduce it to one. It’s both, well at least both. I’m not that smart enough to know how many hands reality has. But you can’t say that you’re a total victim, and you can’t say that you’re a total egotistical controller. We’re all both in varying degrees. So can we please meet in the center? Can we have a mosh pit of love and understanding. I know that some people are “unrelatable” but people change. I used to be a frothing right winger. I grew up. Let’s all stop being total know-it-alls that are completely convinced that the other side is wrong. Certainty is poison. There is no certainty in a complicated system of oppositional actors. Humility, Please?!
By the way, WTF is wrong with you Donald Trump. I’m talking to you as one of those horrible trannies that you want to cleanse out of the military. (BTW, only we can say tranny. Don’t fucking say it if you’re not a tranny.) Grow the fuck up motherfucker! Simmer down my brother. You’re not fucking Christ. Lord. The amount of intellectual certainty in this budding Aquarian Age is just too much. Yeah, we kind of know things because of science, but science is wrong every day.
OK I feel better. It’s such a fucking disaster. Center. Breath. Ground. Know that you’re a dumb ass ape. Life is work.
I’m drunk, but hey, I can write a few words.

Why we as Americans must sacrifice and chose proven and moderate means of solving our current political crisis

Donald Trump is the archetypal confidence man who uses verbal attack tricks to manipulate others by using techniques like globalizing (either/or, black and white thinking), distraction, cutting people off, and other obvious tactics. He also includes a small amount of truth that most people in power don’t talk about, and this endears him to people who feel muzzled and powerless. They are willing to accept the mountain of garbage because there is that little bit of something they really need. Because the media has become so controlled and centralized, it opens the door for demagogues like this. We must have a media that is less focused on middling, sponsor approved, “feel good,” and tepid stories. The reactionary right wing would not have the ammo that it does if the media wasn’t so out of touch.

Yes, there are generalizations here, but I think this is part of the problem. There are obvious problems in America that are not being addressed by the mainstream, and the Internet is a very fertile field for these types of people who can exploit this imbalance. We must support independent media who are not just working to appease their sponsors and the faceless, empty suits who represent the billionaire class. This is not a new phenomenon in America, and we have seen this kind of class conflict before, but the Internet is the jet fuel that spurs on the horse of radicalism.

Lastly, our democratic mechanisms must be updated to handle the changing environment of our republic. Gerrymandering has to be addressed. It is an undemocratic power grab by the incumbency. It is rendering our democracy constipated and intractable. We also need to experiment with alternative systems of voting like many other affluent countries use. Runoff style, two-stage voting systems might be better suited to our country as opposed to our current monopoly system: first-past-the-post voting. This is kind of technical, so I apologize if the language is a bit obscure.

We have a robust system of democracy still in America, but we need boldness to address the problems here. I believe that radical simplicity like Ayn Rand style anarcho-capitalistic libertarianism or alternatively Maoist communism are not the solution. We need a radical yet moderate approach to fixing our problems. Only by meeting in the middle will we move forward across the bridge that crosses the chasm of discord that we currently face. I do not know if this is possible until a certain percentage of hard-line older Americans pass on. This might sound harsh, but these 70 and 80 year old anti-change zealots probably will not change at this point.

Anyway, I hope we can preserve as a representative democracy. We definitely need lots of change, but let’s hope that it arrives in a constructive and logical form rather than a dictatorial morass of alternating power grabs. I have some confidence in the American people, but we have to sacrifice some of our comforts in order to invest our focus on this issue substantively.

I love Donald Trump

I know that headline might be quite alarming to some. But I wanted to say that I choose to extend love to Donald Trump, a man who is clearly suffering. He is deeply in need of love, but he creates as much fear to keep people away from the terror inside of himself. Great teachers have said that we should love our enemies, and I see no reason that I should not love Donald Trump. I disagree with his positions in almost every way, but the power of love is immeasurable. I choose to live in a world where love is the lingua franca. I understand that he might have power over my body, and I accept this. My heart is with God, and I know that God loves Donald Trump too. Whenever I see his screaming visage in my third eye, I just repeat “I love you. I love you. I love you.” Because I do not identify with this earthly body, I have no reason to fear Donald Trump. This existence is but a blink of an eye. And I will soon ascend to my God again from where I came.

The New Day is Now

Everything is new. Love is the triumph. The planet is throwing off its ugly old shell. The butterfly is emerging from the chrysalis. It’s wings are spread so wide open. A new day is dawning. Through birth pains there is new life. The butterfly soars into the air! It’s wings whip in fluttering ecstasy! It bounces through the air alive with the spirit of new imagination. And everything around echoes in concordance creating a symphony of exclamatory transcendence! This is the new day! Yes!

It is now.

Because we’ve had about enough of that crap, haven’t we?

Soar!

Some thoughts on our political situation for this morning

Donald Trump represents a cancer on the American soul. We must learn to live in a different state of consciousness if we want to fight Donald Trump. At present, our avarice and greed feed this kind of person. We must let go of our attachments and return to a simpler time of less stimulation. This is a moral issue in that it depends on the individual. I choose to live in a state of consciousness that is of a higher vibration than his. We have hobbled ourselves with relativism. We are afraid to even say that there might be a better way. There is a truth, and it is not found in the bible or bhagavad gita or Tao Te Ching or a yoga class. It is found in your heart. Those things are devices to try and get you to live in your heart, to turn down your mind, and embrace openness. Material things will not provide the kind of energy that we need as a society. Our society has become frozen and slow. We think it is quick, but it is really slow. We don’t have the vital power within ourselves that comes from a real yoga, which is a Sanskrit word that means to join or unite. Our yoga must be to join with the spiritual side of life. And this is not just a matter of poses or statues. It is a matter of actions and ultimately thoughts. If our thoughts do not change, our lives will remain the same.

Donald Trump is someone who is very attached to his material existence, and the closer you are to your material existence, the more dualistic life becomes. Everything becomes black or white or good or bad. There are no shades of grey. This is not an evil way of thinking, it is just out of balance. It totally ignores the spiritual side of life, which can only be achieved through thought. Our society is very much out of balance. And the only way to realign our society is through conscious awareness and intentional action. We must not fall into the trap of going down to Donald Trump’s level. He will win that game because he is a very smart manipulator. We must offer up a new vision for America. We must go boldly upward. We must go back to the principles that are written in those books that nobody reads. It’s not that hard. You start by letting go of your fears. As Jesus said “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”

Fear is the absence of God. If you rest in God and integrate trust into your life, you will lose your fear. It will go. You just have to try. It’s not crazy. Our consciousness has a certain way of being that is better than others. Our hardware requires that we run the proper software. You listen and then you hear. You trust and then you let go. Then you die to the world of material things, and you live in the spiritual body like any of the sages through the ages. It’s not complicated. We just have to change our thoughts a little. We’ll be fine.

America is embarrassing to me right now. Where are the adults on either side?

I’m so tired of America right now. Almost everyone is just a giant, pulsating ego of fear. The smugness on both sides is nauseating. I really just have to check out of culture. It’s too much. Spamming political memes does not give you more political power, it’s just a giant sign that you are terrified. The left is whiny and insufferable. The right is full of petty trolls. Where are the adults who want to heal the divide or come up with creative solutions from the center? And, we don’t have the power we thought we did. We have owners. The corporations own us. Obviously what we are doing is not working.

Who cares whose rally had more people? God. So dumb. Yes, Trump is a moron. But guess what? The right chose Trump to piss off liberals. When people freak out about Trump, they love it. It’s the whole point!

Life is hard. Life is disappointing. There is no utopia. You deal with it like an adult. Everyone wants to get on their soapbox and stand up for all of these poor minorities, and it’s just condescending. Life sucks, that’s the point. It’s training. Memes don’t do shit except make the person posting it feel important for clicking a button. It’s not an argument. It’s a slogan.

Fear is not cool. Fear is sad. We need to grow up as a country. This is just pathetic. Let’s get our shit together. I’m sure I hit some sacred cows with this post, but I don’t care.

America Needs a Middle Way Out of the Political Civil War it is Wading Into

Americans took to the streets today in record numbers to voice their opinions about the Trump presidency, but I was somewhat ambivalent about it. What’s more important than marching is critical thinking. We need a society of people who know how to discern between truth and falsity and have the courage to stand behind their discriminations. Protesting is fine, but instagrams of pithy protest slogans will not stop the incessant creep of fascism. We have created a toxic milieu in America wherein people are not capable of creating logically coherent and systematic structures of thought that conform to the rules of evidence. I am quite cynical of the the prospects of a society that has real liberty as a core tenet. My dream is a balanced society of tough as nails people who also have deep levels of compassion.

I know that I don’t fit in on the left or the right anymore, and honestly, I think both modes are effectively dead. We need a center position that is capable of wielding both the left hand and the right hand at the same time, in balance. Both are necessary. In my dualistic belief system, the right is known as the side of severity, and the left is known as the side of mercy. Each by itself is weak and ineffectual. I believe that we are running back and forth between severity and mercy in a dialectic schizophrenia. Yes, the right is probably more deranged than the left at this point, but worn out Marxist class warfare is not the answer. You don’t have to study much of the Maoist cultural revolution of 1960’s China to know that youth + Marxism can get very ugly very fast. This kind of left/right extremism is what fueled European problems for the first half of the 20th century. The fascists and the communists could not reach a middle way, and the continent was reduced to ruin.

America has always been fairly good at balancing the two halves of its intellectual brain, but it is spinning out of control at this point. I think that the problem is rooted in the acceptance of the philosophy of Relativism or the notion that there is no truth and all ideas are of equal merit. All ideas are not equal. We, as humans, are blessed with an understanding of mathematical logic to guide our actions. I am not an Ayn Rand, cold logic over all, kind of thinker, but I do think that without an understanding of how to reason, how to avoid fallacies, and how to support your positions with evidence, the modern thinker is reduced to being completely at the whim of campaigns of manufactured consent (propaganda) by the .1%. Since humans first looked up to the stars and noticed that the stars moved in mathematically predictable patterns, we have known that there is a thing such as truth. We have moved away from the exaltation of truth at our peril.

However, I am aware of why this does not exist. There was a great schism between the understanding of the spiritual world and the material world in the schools of western society centuries ago, and it has not been rectified. Until there is a coherent system of thought that combines logic and science with the world of religion, there will be no progress because humans need sustenance from science and religion to survive. So at this point, individuals scramble back and forth between the two to try and stay sane, but this generates chaos socially. I don’t know if there will be a solution to this until there is some sort of technological advance where physics acknowledges consciousness in spiritual terms. I have reached a synthesis of the two in my head, but I don’t know how to communicate it in a convincing manner. It is a conversation that I had in my head over decades where I came to understand certain truths.
Donald Trump is popular because somewhere in the American collective consciousness, people feel that America is a weak country. America is somewhat weak in my opinion. It’s sad but true. I’m not saying that Trump is right as to the reasons, but I sense it to be true like many other people. I believe that political strength comes from two things: collective unity and logical coherence of thought. We might have some sort of unity on the left or the right, but I am underwhelmed about what either side are really fighting for. And this issue is very, very deep. It’s a very tough problem that requires a very strong commitment to overcome. Our world has changed completely, from head to toe, over the last 140 years. You don’t go through that kind of change without having to completely reformulate your systems of philosophy. But I don’t think that has happened. And because of this we have charlatans openly lying to the populace and promising them things that will not be delivered.

So, I don’t like to have a very cynical outlook, but I do. I’d rather not think that the ship is totally out of control, but that’s the way I see it. And, there are some big icebergs out there in our path. If we get hit with a nasty recession, we are absolutely not prepared economically to deal with it, and this will create the surplus of fear needed to usher in some new system of authoritarianism. If people can’t speak up with utter honesty and fight for truth with courage, things will keep degrading. And, lastly, let me say that celebrities should not be making the political arguments let alone leading the ship. We need political scientists and not actors crafting the zeitgeist. We need a new intellectualism in the United States. We need a return to logic and evidence. We need this in a new, moderate synthesis and not some rehash of the John Birch Society or Marxism.

But personally, I’m actually fairly zen about the whole thing. The Earth has always been messy. I’ve had a hard life, and it has prepared me well. Getting over addiction has calmed me. Fighting your mind is the biggest challenge of all, and I do think we can get through this as Americans, but we need to wake up.
